The Butterfly Tarot
Tarot is a sacred art that has been around since the 1400s. Through 78 cards, it encompasses all of the human experience. From events, mentors, and emotions. The times when I am not working on my advertising craft, I am working on my tarot craft. I am usually working on my tarot reading skills, but one day I decided “Why not make a tarot deck?” There are tarot decks for everything. From life in New York City to cats. After MUCH research, I saw that there was no tarot deck about my favorite animal. Butterflies. Well then let’s fix that. I won’t bore you with the long process of concepting, sketching, and painting every card, designing the box, and writing the book. But I will dispel the myth that tarot readers tell the future. I don’t tell the future. Because there is no way I could’ve seen this beauty 1.5 years into the future.

To take it 1 step further, my tarot deck ended up in some hippie shops in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. It was crazy to see my deck in the shops I loved in college and still love today. My tarot deck? Next to the legends of the Thoth Tarot and the Crow Tarot? Regular names in the real world. Big names in the psychic world. From sketch to the store was magical journey—or should I say “witchy.”
